OK I have FINALLY made a story for atleast this egyptis. Hope you all like it. Oh and the idea for Vegas`s power of light was given to me by foxy_tigeress another member of the egyptan breeders Yahoo! Group. VEGAS DESERT:Brittany loved to travel. She loved visiting amazing far-away places. She especially loved collecting things from the places she visited! She had masks from Africa, replicas of cave paintings framed on her walls, and exotic plants from Asia. Now it was time to take a trip closer to home. LAS VEGAS! She was so excited she wanted so badly for the plane to land. She had been all over the world with her parents but never somewhere in her very own country! Vegas with its bright lights, and parties. She loved it all. When the plane landed she sprinted through the gates to the baggage claim. She grabbed her bags and waited for her friends to get theirs. What was even more exciting about this trip was her parents had finally trusted her to go on one alone! She brought two of her best girlfriends Arien and Jessie, her brother-figure Rob and her boyfriend Mike. They grabbed their bag, hailed a taxi and were off to the hotel. The hotel room was amazing! The beds were soft, there was a HUGE television, and the bathroom was to die for (atleast for the girls). After getting settled they set off for the night-life of Vegas. Brittany went camera crazy! She took pictures of EVERYTHING! She especially loved the neon signs. They were so colorful and intricately designed. Her friends wanted to go the casino, but Brittany wanted to go souvenirs shopping. She left her friends and took Mike with her to the various stores. Brittany kept looking for a miniature neon sign but she couldn’t find one. They decided to hit one more shop before meeting up with the others. The shop was crammed with people. Everyone bustling around buying things. Mike and Brittany finally made their way to the front counter. “Hi,” said a blonde haired lady at the counter in a crisp uniform, “How may I help you?” She put on such a forced smile Brittany had to fight hard not to laugh. “Ummm you wouldn’t happen to sell miniature neon signs would you?” Brittany asked hopefully. The lady smiled widely. “Why you’re in luck, I believe we just got a shipment of novelties neon signs this morning. Follow me.” The lady walked through the crowds of people with Brittany and Mike towing behind her. She led them to the back where Brittany was delighted to see a wall plastered with signs. Then her eyes caught sight of something else and she stopped to look. It was a cocoon type object in a glass case tucked away in a far corner of the store. She walked closer to examine it completely forgetting about the neon signs. She leaned very close to looked inside the glass case. The thing was beautiful! It was silky white and she bet it was silky to touch. Realizing she had walked away Mike and the service lady walked up behind her, Mike placing a hand on her shoulder. “Brittany I thought you wanted a-.” “What is this?” Brittany asked the service lady interrupting Mike. She pointed to the white cocoon. The lady looked at it and smiled again. “That is an egyptan cocoon. Very rare around these parts,” she said proudly. “An egyptan?” Brittany said amazed. Mike looked confused. “What’s an-“ again he was interrupted. “An egyptan is an amazingly beautiful fox-like creature with five tails and two sets of wings,” explained Brittany, “They come in different colors depending on what tribe they are from. I read about them on my trip to Africa where a few of them live in the private desert areas. A pen-pal of mine had a Winter egyptis. I’ve wanted one ever since I heard of them. Is it for sale?” she finally asked the sales lady. When the lady told her how much it was her face dropped. She sighed and nodded understanding. She finished walking to the back and picked out a neon sign that said “Vegas” in bright red letters with neon waves and palm tree surrounding it. Then Mike and Brittany set out to meet up with their friends. They headed to the hotel room for a while before her friends begged Brittany to come with them to another casino. When she said she didn’t like gambling they said she could just sit and buy drinks watching them gamble. She smiled shaking her head and finally agreed. Brittany sat at the bar counter watching her friends play Blackjack and the Slot machines. She smiled as her friends lost time after time and found out why she didn’t like to gamble. Mike was over at the slot machines but he was doing a bit better then the others. He was out of sight of Brittany so she had no idea he had one the jackpot and he kept it a secret even from the others. When they decided to head back to the hotel room Mike said he had something to do and that he would be there soon. Brittany gave him a quizzical look but he just smiled and promised he would be back soon. When Mike came back to the hotel room he had a large wrapped package in his arms. Everyone began asking what it was but Brittany was researching something on her laptop and just glanced over at him before returning to her research. But when he began walking towards her she became more interested. He smiled his winning smile and handed her the package. “Happy Birthday! Ok so it’s not your birthday but here’s a present for your first trip without your parents,” he said. Brittany took the package tenderly and opened it up slowly. As soon as she saw that first patch of white peaking up at her from beneath the wrappings she ripped of the paper though still carefully. When she had fully uncovered the cocoon she leapt up and embraced Mike screaming, “Thank You!” She cradled the cocoon in her arms. “Now what to name you?” she mused to herself. Then she looked over at the neon sign she had purchases earlier and it hit her. “Vegas.” Then the little cocoon gave a shiver, and while everyone around her gasped and began chattering excitedly she merely smiled and set the cocoon gently down on the bed waiting. NEON,THE COLOR OF LIFE: The cocoon gave another shiver as Brittany and her friends watched crowded around the bed. Then a tear appeared across the cocoon’s silky surface and a bright patch of fur shown through the material. A few seconds later a damp rumpled cub tumbled out onto the bed. “Hello Vegas,” Brittany said calmly smiling. It was beautiful it was black with metallic-like colors on his chest, head feathers, and tipping his tails with neon red out lining on everything. Brittany smiled as she saw the cubs color knowing she had named him justly. Her friends and make were all clamoring loudly and Brittany finally shushed them but when she did Vegas glared. Confused Brittany told her friends to talk loudly again. Though they didn’t understand why her friends obeyed and began their loud conversation. Vegas curled up on the bed with a content look upon his face. Brittany smiled and went to get her boom box. She popped in some dance music and turned the volume to medium. The handsome neon cub slept silently while everyone sat around talking about it. “Yeah, now I’m jealous,” said Arien jokingly. “Yeah, really Brittany you always get the fun stuff,” Jessie said smiling playfully. “Hey, it’s not like I knew Mike was going to get me the cocoon,” Brittany said defensively though smiling just the same. Mike smiled but said nothing knowing he had done something good. He thought to himself about something important but kept it to himself. He didn’t want to spoil anything. Then he heard something and, while the others were talking, looked over to where Vegas lay on the bed. But the cub was no longer sleeping but up dancing to the music Brittany had put in. He smiled and nudged Brittany to show her. Brittany looked over and started laughing. After a while the others joined in. Brittany got up and went to the cub stroking him back to sleep. Mike figured this was as good a time as any and while Brittany’s back was turned he got down on one knee and pulled out a small box from his pocket. Arien and Jessie immediately started squealing making Brittany turn around to see what was going on. Speechless, she stared at Mike. He smiled at her holding the box out. “Brittany we’ve been dating for a while now,” he started, “and that cocoon wasn’t the only thing I bought when I went out after the casino. I was buying this which I hope you will accept. Brittany would you marry me?” He opened the box revealing a beautiful ring, and then blushed a bit as he was a bit uncomfortable with the two girls giggling in the background but he waited for his answer never showing his discomfort. Brittany just stood there staring for a second before her hand shot to her face stifling a scream of joy. Then she began shaking her head before she finally managed to squeak out, “Yes! Of course!” Mike smiled and slipped the ring on her finger. Then he got up and the two embraced sharing a kiss before things calmed down somewhat. Of course through all this excitement Vegas had been lulled to sleep by the noise. Brittany smiled at her special cub. Then she smiled at Mike knowing that she now had the two best guys in the world. As things calmed down Vegas awoke and sat between Mike and Brittany smiling and nudging Brittany affectionately. Then her friends had the idea that the next night they should go dancing for a Congratulations party. Brittany nodded yawning. Then they all climbed into bed Brittany setting Vegas in the corner with his music. The next day they were all excited about going dancing that night they had to work to find things to occupy them all day. But finally it became night and they got dressed and headed off to a club. They found one that allowed pets as Brittany had insisted that Vegas go with them. The music was blaring and everyone got right in and began dancing, Vegas included. After a while everyone got tired so the friends decided to take a breather. They were all sitting down watching Vegas keep on dancing when the music changed. The music was loud! It was the loudest dance tune Brittany had ever heard Vegas went wild his fur began glowing slightly and his dancing became faster. He lept onto the stage in the middle of the room and began dancing wildy to everyone`s delight. Suddenly he began to grow. He grew and grew until he was twice his normal size while everyone gasped again Brittany just smiled as she had when he was born. Her Vegas had become a teen. Then the power went out…(oooo suspense :) A GUIDING LIGHT:Everything erupted in sound! People started screaming, glasses broke, and it was pandemonium. Through it all Brittany tried desperately to find Vegas in the dark, but was having no luck. She began to get frantic. She wanted so badly to stroke Vegas’s soft fur. Then she finally caught sight of him and she gave a great heaving sigh of relief. She took in all his features calming down a bit each time she looked him over. His soft yellow eyes, his warm smile, his soft glowing fur. “Wait?” she thought. His glowing fur! She looked closer and sure enough his neon red stripes and yellow eyes were glowing brightly lighting up the pitch black room. The glowing seemed to calm everyone. Vegas then trotted to the middle of the room looking over at Brittany and giving a sort of wink. He stood in the middle of the room where his glowing was able to light up the entire room. Everyone started clapping and the dancing began again. The lights may have been out but everyone was determined to have a good time. Brittany, Mike and her friends got up and began dancing with everyone else Brittany extremely proud of Vegas and his gift of light. As they were all dancing and the music returning to its maximum volume Vegas more brightly. He lit up the room with his fantastic colors and everyone was having a wonderful time. When the party died down Brittany walked over to Vegas and hugged him. “Thanks Vegas,” she said softly, “You did good.” Then as everyone was leaving the lights came back on. Brittany smiled and Vegas stopped glowing. He walked out of the club with Brittany, Mike, and their friends. They walked back to the hotel room and decided to get a good night’s sleep because they had to catch an early flight back home to New York. Brittany set Vegas up in the corner with his music again and he was soon lulled to sleep by its wonderful sounds.A DeLIGHTful SURPRISE:The next day the friends and Vegas headed to the airport. Everyone was sad to leave, but all excited at everything that had happened. Brittany kept oddly quiet throughout the entire trip to the airport and while they were waiting for the plane to land. She sat their holding Mike`s hand her other hand resting on Vegas`s sleeping head (the loud noise of people talking and attendants calling out arrivals and boardings of planes had lulled him to sleep). Over the loud speaker the group heard a voice telling them that their plane would be landing in fifteen minutes. “Wow this had been one amazing trip!” said Arien. “Yeah with lots of surprises along the way,” said Jessie smiling pointedly at Mike and nudging him. He smiled and put his arm around Brittany. She smiled along with them then sighed knowing she had to tell everyone now. She got up and everyone looked at her. Even Vegas woke up at stared intently at his caretaker. Brittany took a deep breath. “Well, I actually have a surprise of my own,” she began trying to hide the sadness in her voice, “I`m not going back to Vermont with you guys.” Arien, Jessie, and Mike all immediately began exclaiming loudly, but it was Arien who spoke what they were all thinking. “What do you mean “not going back”?” she asked tentively. Jessie and Mike became silent to hear the answer. Brittany took another deep breath. “Well I guess my great-grandfather died,” she began explaining, “And he left his “fortune” to me. After hearing this my parents finally decided it was time to kick me out of the house. “This all happened right before this trip. I wanted to tell you guys but my mind was racing about where I was going to live. Then my common sense took over and I figured since I was already taking a trip to Vegas I might as well move here. So I found a large house over the internet and now I have to say goodbye. I`ll come visit though I promise.” After a few more questions with which Brittany provided answers the friends all sighed sadly and nodded. They were happy for Brittany but they were sad that their friend was leaving. Then Brittany turned to Mike. “Now since I wasn`t expecting you to propose to me,” she said smirking, “I called home and made the necessary arrangements for you to stay out here with me. And of course Vegas gets to stay.” The friends said goodbye and Arien and Jessie boarded their flight. Tears could be found in Brittany`s eyes but they were a mix of sad tears and joyful tears. Then after the plane had left Brittany took Mike and Vegas to their new home. It was very large and had a big yard. There was plenty of room for Vegas and Atcha`s cubs when they came. They had a big housewarming party the next day. Though only Atcha and Amanda were the only guests they had a good time all the same setting dates for Mike and Brittany`s wedding, and also Amanda and Rick`s wedding. Nothing real exciting happened until one night about a month later when the power went out in their big house and Vegas used his power of light to get it back going. At which point as soon as all the lights that filled the house came back on Vegas had finally turned into his teen stage. Then when Atcha finally made her Adult transformation on the day of the wedding(s) everyone celebrated by dancing late into the night. And everyone was happy and content living their new lives in the great city that was…Las Vegas. If you would like to adopt an egyptis of your own go here! Well be sure to come back to see what the cocoon hatches into! *waves*
